Animated WebP Maker
Build an animated WebP from images or a video clip, with transparency, timing and loop control.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How Animated WebP Maker works
Frames are prepared in your browser and encoded with libwebp inside ffmpeg.wasm. Video work runs in ffmpeg.wasm, the FFmpeg toolkit compiled to WebAssembly (GPL build, loaded as a separate engine file of about 30 MB the first time, then cached).
Input: JPG, PNG, WEBP, MP4, MOV, WEBM, MKV, AVI. Output: WEBP.
How to use Animated WebP Maker
- Drop one or more images onto Animated WebP Maker.
- Tune the options. The before/after preview updates live.
- Process the batch.
- Download a single image, or everything as a ZIP.
Tips
- Most image tools accept many files at once.
- WebP and AVIF give much smaller files than JPG at the same visual quality.
- Set a default image quality in Settings. Tools that do not choose their own quality use it.
Animated WebP Maker FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
