Image Compressor

Shrink images in bulk with quality and width controls and live savings.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How Image Compressor works

Image Compressor decodes each image to a canvas, optionally resizes it with high-quality resampling, and re-encodes it as JPG, WebP, AVIF or a palette-reduced PNG. You see the before/after and the exact savings for every file.

Input: JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP.

How to use Image Compressor

  1. Drop one or more images onto Image Compressor.
  2. Tune the options. The before/after preview updates live.
  3. Process the batch.
  4. Download a single image, or everything as a ZIP.

Tips

  • Quality 75 to 85 is visually lossless for most photos.
  • Converting PNG photos to WebP often saves 70% or more.
  • Set a max width. Most web images never need more than 1920px.

Image Compressor FAQ

Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
