GIF Inspector
See frames, delays, disposal, palette, loop count and the block structure of GIF, APNG and WebP files.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How GIF Inspector works
The file is walked byte by byte to list every block (graphic control, image, application, comment) with its offset, so damaged or unusual files can be understood. WebP files are read chunk by chunk.
Input: GIF, APNG, WEBP, AVIF. Output: TXT.
How to use GIF Inspector
- Drop one or more images onto GIF Inspector.
- Tune the options. The before/after preview updates live.
- Process the batch.
- Download a single image, or everything as a ZIP.
Tips
- Most image tools accept many files at once.
- WebP and AVIF give much smaller files than JPG at the same visual quality.
- Set a default image quality in Settings. Tools that do not choose their own quality use it.
GIF Inspector FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
