EXIF Metadata Editor
Edit photo metadata: date taken, GPS location, author, copyright, camera and description, for JPEG, PNG and WebP.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How EXIF Metadata Editor works
Existing metadata is read with exifr. New EXIF is written with piexifjs and placed in the right container for each format (an APP1 segment for JPEG, an eXIf chunk for PNG, an EXIF chunk for WebP) without re-encoding the pixels, so quality is untouched.
Input: JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC, TIFF. Output: JPG, PNG, WEBP.
How to use EXIF Metadata Editor
- Drop a photo.
- Change the date, location, author, copyright or camera fields.
- Press Save metadata, or Remove all EXIF.
- Download the edited photo.
Tips
- Leave the GPS fields empty to strip the location before you share a photo.
- "Use my location" asks the browser for your current position to geotag a photo.
EXIF Metadata Editor FAQ
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. Everything runs in this browser tab on your own device. Engines are downloaded once and cached, but your files never leave your computer.
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
