Text to Speech
Read text aloud with system voices or a private neural voice, then save it as WAV.
Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.
How Text to Speech works
Text to Speech runs entirely in your browser. Read text aloud with system voices or a private neural voice, then save it as WAV. Under the hood it uses Web Speech API (the speech voices installed on your operating system). Your files are read into this tab’s memory, processed on your own CPU, and handed back to you as a download. Nothing is sent to a server.
Input: Text. Output: WAV.
How to use Text to Speech
- Type or paste your text in the box.
- Pick System voices or the Neural engine, then choose a voice.
- Set the speed, then press Read aloud (or Ctrl+Enter).
- Press Make WAV to save the audio file.
Tips
- Available voices depend on your operating system and browser.
Text to Speech FAQ
- Are my files uploaded?
- No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
- Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
- Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
- Does it work offline?
- Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
