Scan to PDF

Turn phone photos or your camera into a clean multi-page PDF: edge detection, straightening, black and white.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How Scan to PDF works

The page is found as the largest bright shape in the photo, then straightened with a perspective transform you can fine-tune by dragging the corners. Cleanup uses auto levels for color and an adaptive threshold for crisp black and white. pdf-lib builds the PDF.

Input: JPG, PNG, HEIC, Camera. Output: PDF.

How to use Scan to PDF

  1. Drop photos of your pages, or press Use the camera.
  2. Check the corners on each page and drag them if needed.
  3. Pick Color, Gray or Black & white.
  4. Save all pages as one PDF.

Tips

  • Encrypted PDFs must be unlocked first with Unlock PDF.
  • Large scanned PDFs are mostly images. Compress PDF shrinks them the most.
  • Your original file is never modified; you always download a new copy.

Scan to PDF FAQ

Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
