Codes follow RFC 6238 and RFC 4226 using the otpauth library. Secrets are generated with the secure random generator, and the otpauth:// link and QR code work with common authenticator apps.

Does it work offline?

Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
