GIF Frame Editor

Reorder, delete, duplicate and retime frames, set loop count, add frames, then save as GIF, APNG, WebP or video.

Free, no uploads, no sign-up. Runs 100% in your browser.

How GIF Frame Editor works

Animations are decoded into full frames in your browser (GIF with gifuct-js, APNG with UPNG.js, WebP frames with the browser decoder), edited, then written back out. GIF is encoded with gifenc plus our own frame optimiser; WebP, MP4 and WebM go through ffmpeg.wasm.

Input: GIF, APNG, WEBP, AVIF. Output: GIF, APNG, WEBP, MP4, WEBM.

How to use GIF Frame Editor

  1. Drop an animation.
  2. Drag frames to reorder, select frames to delete or duplicate, and type a delay under any frame.
  3. Set the loop and choose an output format.

Tips

  • Shift-click frames to select several.
  • Hold last +1s is handy for a pause before the loop restarts.
  • Undo keeps your last 30 changes.

GIF Frame Editor FAQ

Are my files uploaded?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser tab. Files are read from your disk into memory and the result is generated locally.
Is it free? Are there limits or watermarks?
Free and open source (MIT). There are no file-size caps, daily quotas, accounts or watermarks.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page (and any engine it needs) has loaded, it keeps working without a connection thanks to the service worker cache.
